Today I watched James and the Giant Peach with my intervention class. I really enjoyed watching the movie with them. We read the book and completed many fun activities (or at least we are still working on them). The students were making comparisons with the book as we when along. They were so on target!!! |

In How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the Grinch's heart grew "3 times its size" because he saw the true meaning of Christmas. I think ways my heart would "grow bigger" :
1. Helping my mom! She is very forgetful. Sometimes I don't have much patience with her, but I'm trying to get better. 2. Help my students! I want my children to feel great about their abilities and I want to help them through their goals. 3. Help people in need. I want to go to a shelter and take clothes or serve meals. These are my goals for 2015!! I am having a great time celebrating the Hour of Code each day. The students seem to be having a good time and the adults involved seem to be having fun too.
I have loved his books for years. I read Matilda last year, because I was so fascinated with the musical by the same name. I also read Fantastic Fox for the first time, because that was the book for my Intervention group last year. It seems like in most of his books, there is a character who is always going through great difficulty but overcomes that difficulty through extreme means. I think the characters that I will compare will be Charlie and James!
Thanksgiving was nice this year. It was relatively calm. My sister had the meal catered. Everything was delicious! I also got a chance to see my niece and her family. She has a new baby (a girl) and two boys. I enjoyed spending time with them.
