On Thursday, April 10th, I had the privilege of watching Ms. Collins' class in their Drama Class. The drama teacher along with Mrs. Burke helped the children go through a warm-ups. I really enjoyed watching the children go through the process. Hello!
Another Christmas, another Kwanzaa, another Hannukah...now 2019. As a brand new STEAM facilitator, I am looking to exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math with the first and second graders of King School. If you want to know more about this program, visit our STEAM Lab link on my home page. Happy New Year! Hello!
I haven't blogged since last December. I miss working with the students. I have moved the videos on the front page to Archived Videos or Archived Student Videos. I am still available for assistance. If there are students or teachers who need my help, please contact me via my e-mail: [email protected]. Have a great school year! J. White The year 2017 is coming to an end. This is the first day of December. It is my birthday. I would love to hear from students and teachers from time to time. Please comment on my blogs when you can. I will respond as quickly as possible. Remember December 4-10 is Hour of Code Week. Have fun!
I can't believe it! I am done! After eight years teaching in Catholic School and another 33 years in West Harvey Dixmoor 147. I started at Washington School. Our school was closed last year. I should have left then, but I thought I could continue for two more years. My new situation was unbearable. I loved the kids, but the environment was toxic! I will miss the children and the old staff and the new ones that I met! I wish everyone the best!
Now I have to start the rest of my life! I need some suggestions. My favorite book by Dr. Seuss is Bartholomew and the Oobleck. In this story the selfish King causes a major catastrophe in his kingdom. The town is covered with Oobleck, a green, sticky, gooey substance. At the end the king has to admit that he is wrong.
My favorite character in The Watsons Go to Birmingham is Joetta (Joey). Joey is very sweet and seems to get along with everybody. She reminds me of my little sister, Jill. When Jill was little, she was everyone's baby and she would always make everyone laugh. Joetta also doesn't seem to have conflicts with anyone. That is why she is my favorite character so far.
I had so much fun reading The BFG with my RTI group. Now we are starting a new book, The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963. We are welcoming new students to our group. I hope they enjoy working with us.
âBelow you will find my new pet, Lamby. Dahl writes, "If you can think of anything more terrifying than that happening to you in the middle of the night, then let’s hear about it.". When I was just five years old, I was walking down the street with my mother. A bulldog ran up to me and knocked me down. I didn't know he was trying to be friendly. I cried and cried. My mother picked me up and brushed me off. The dog ran away. I never forgot that incident and I am still terrified of bulldogs.
