On my home page you can listen to two great books about WORDS. Martin Luther King used words very powerfully in his quest for Civil Rights. Doreen Rappaport wrote Martin's Big Words to show how powerful his speeches were over 60 years ago and how they are still important now. Stacy Abrams carries on Dr. King's legacy. In her first picture book, Stacey's Extraordinary Words she shares how important reading and words were to her as she grew up. Here are questions to think about as you listen to these two stories.
1. How are these books alike and how are they different?
2. Which book did you like the best? Tell why.
3. Which person as a child, is more you like you? Tell why.
4. Share how you feeling about reading. What special words would you write in your notebook?
