Today is the 44th anniversary of Earth Day. Do you think our Earth is better off? What can we do as citizens to make the Earth a better place?
Today I met with representatives from KaBoom and Fannie Mae. These organizations are going to help our community to build a special playground for our children. Students participated in the first session. They came up with many exciting design ideas. The second half of the meeting was with staff members, administrators and community members. I am so excited about this project. We are counting down to build day. Many years ago when I was in grammar school and for years after, my family and I attended church and we received the blessed palms. Then as part of the tradition in our parish, there was a pancake breakfast. The tradition continues.
I didn't realize that I haven't blogged for over a month. The weather got me down. I think spring has finally sprung. It is also Poetry Month and I am enjoying teaching about different styles of poetry. I hope everyone is getting a chance to go out and enjoy the wonderful weather. It might inspire you to write a poem.
