My enrichment group is completing their Fantastic Mr. Fox projects. I am proud of most of the people in the group. They really showed that they have the Tech skills and the academic skills to demonstrate what they've learned. Our next project will deal with Black History.
I haven't written on my blog in awhile. This weather is terrible. I am so glad that the students did not have to go out in this weather. I really don't like driving on ice.
I spent some of my time reading books and thinking about our new project. I looked at the websites and I am not really pleased with them. I thi Mr. Fox is like a real fox because he is a clever mammal that has large ears and a long, bushy tail. One interesting fact I found about a real fox is that eat small mammals (like mice), eggs, birds, insects, amphibians (like frogs), reptiles (like lizards), fish, grass, berries, nuts, and carrion (carcasses of animals that they find). http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/mammals/fox/Foxprintout.shtml Today is the first day of December. It also happens to be the beginning of Advent and MY birthday. During December our students are going to study Christmas Around the World and we are going to learn more about Kwanzaa. Here are some sites you may want to visit. Kwanzaa Christmas Around the World You may also visit Mind University and look for information under the "December" link. Thanksgiving can be wonderful holiday. I start every holiday with the Macy's Day Parade in New York. The balloons, floats, and entertainment are special and unique. This year for the first time. The South Shore Drill Team performed in the parade. This phenomenal group stresses education, hard-work and dedication. There performance today made the residents of Chicago very proud. If you would like to learn more about the parade, click HERE. If you would like to learn more about the South Shore Drill Team, click HERE. Today I am the librarian at King School. I worked with students in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. The students learned how to pick a "Just Right" book. We watched a video and then took a test using the iPads and Kahoot software. It was a blast. I hope the students had a good time. Thanksgiving is just two days away. Hurray! |
